Do you get stuck trying to take a single-page sketch and adapting it to a double-page layout? Look no further. This class will help you move past overthinking and gain the confidence to expand and customize any sketch. I like to say that sketches are like recipes: they are meant to be a guide, not followed exactly! You will learn the techniques to modify a single page geometric sketch into a sprawling, cohesive double-page spread utilizing the precise measurements as a framework, not a restriction. We will also distill that same sketch inspiration into a beautifully-composed 5 x 7" card, demonstrating how a singular design concept can provide infinite inspiration for all your papercrafting projects. We will be using the striking Creative Memories Grateful Giving Designer Paper Pack with its companion Border and Title Kit. Come ready to play, adapt, and learn the techniques that will give all your projects a finished, professional polish. - What products will be highlighted: Creative Memories Grateful Giving Decorative Collection
and Creative Memories 12" Trimmer techniques.
- What will I learn or complete: One 12 x 12" layout and one 5 x 7" card.
- What do I need to bring to class: 12" trimmer (Creative Memories recommended), micro-tip scissors, multi-purpose tool, silicone mat or parchment board, and repositionable tape runner (Creative Memories recommended).
- What do I need to finish at home: Photos and a pen.
- What techniques will I learn or use: You will learn to adapt a scrapbook sketch to fit your needs, taking a single page sketch and making it into a double-page layout and card. We will also use a trimmer to cut geometric shapes (triangles).
- Will I complete this project in class: It is possible some people will finish the projects in class.
