In this introduction class, you will learn how to make a 4 x 4" album from scratch using chipboard wrapped in beautiful book-binding fabric to create a chic look. This album can double as a journal or you can use it for special moments and write important memories next to your photos. You’ll make your mini album like a Mary Poppins bag-it’s bigger on the inside! With special accordion paper, you will expand the amount of photos you can include. Since you’ll be learning the building blocks for how to create an album, you’ll also receive online access to this tutorial via video on our website: kncessentials.shop. Just be sure to register for an account!
- What products will be highlighted: Fabric roll and chipboards for bookbinding, Showering Nature paper collection, glue for book binding, ephemera, chipboard laser cut outs, ribbons, and embellishments.
- What will I learn or complete: The base for the mini album. Decorating the album will be completed at your own pace after the class at home. (Please Note: This is an intermediate-level class and the project is not intricate, so most students should be able to finish creating the base for the album in class. However, it will depend on your skill level.)
- What do I need to bring to class: Paper trimmer, scoreboard, bone folder, bookbinding cover template and Fabri-Tac glue (both available in our booth), a small rag or towel, liquid glue, and dimensional foam.
- What do I need to finish at home: Nothing.
- What techniques will I learn or use: You will learn how to apply glue and combine bookbinding fabric to chipboard album covers, how to use our template and bookbinding tools, and how to embellish to make it a vintage and shabby chic album. Video tutorials will also be made available for all participants after the show.
- Will I complete this project in class: Work at home will be needed to finish projects.
