Type of Workshop:

Card Making    Coloring    Stamping

This technique class is built on the art principle that things that are far away appear lighter (smaller and less distinct). We will be teaching you to use this principle to create depth in your scenes using only color! You will stamp, mask, and insert color with blending ovals to end up with a large 5 x 7" scene that can be mounted as a card or framed as artwork! You will be working on coated cardstock, so having the correct type of ink (dye) is critical.

  • What products will be highlighted: Masking, perspective, blending ovals, and using ink to color.
  • What will I learn or complete: A 5 x 7" scene that can later be framed or mounted as a card. You will also take home a set of stamps used in class.
  • What do I need to bring to class: Dye ink pads are required in assorted yellows, greens, browns, and a black. (Hybrid and pigment ink will not work.) Also bring scissors, medium-sized acrylic blocks, permanent tape runner or double-sided tape, and wet wipes. Contact Tonya in advance with questions or to order supplies.
  • What do I need to finish at home: A handle for your blending ovals.
  • What techniques will I learn or use: You will learn about masking, spot color, and inserting color with blending ovals.
  • Will I complete this project in class: It is possible some people will finish the projects in class.
